A little about me...

I've been studying in IT since 1998 and have been coding websites since 2003. I graduated from university with a HND in Computing (Multimedia) as well as 2:1 Degree in BSc (Hons) Multimedia Computing. It was in both of these courses that I started to create small software applications in Flash (click here to see some of the stuff I created in Flash at uni), but my real interests were in Web Development and I soon realised after doing well in my Web Developing modules at uni that this is what I wanted to pursue as a career.

After graduating from uni in 2005, I landed my first Web Development role in 2007 at a Digital Agency called Perform (formerly Premium TV), where I joined as a Junior Web Developer. Although I didn't have any commercial experience at the time, it was clear to see that my eagerness and enthusiasm for web developing was good compensation. I started work in the support team where I managed the football data across 80 or so football league websites - dealing with fixtures and player profile data, as well as working on small tweaks on sites for clients such as ATP Tennis, Cartoon Network, Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Virgin Media and WTA Tennis.

I was promoted to full Web Developer status in 2008, which is when I moved onto bigger site amend projects for Virgin Media, where I built the whole of the football section on their sports portal, and also the Rankings section on the WTA Tour site. My first full site build was a 6 month project for CONCACAF, which is the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Americas version of UEFA). My task was to build both English and Spanish versions for two of CONCACAF's mini tournaments - Gold Cup, and Champions League - as well as English and Spanish versions of the main Corporate site.

After successfully completing the CONCACAF project, I then moved onto the redesign for Aston Villa Football Club which was completed in just under 4 months.

In July 2011 I made a career move going from the Sports and Entertainment industry to the Financial Industry and am currently working as a Web Developer for Affinion International. Based primarily in the Financial Services, Affinion International is a world-leading provider of loyalty and customer engagement solutions, operating in the US and UK as well as in France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and South Africa. Affinion Group globally has over 5,300 global partners, including many of the worlds largest financial institutions such as Wells Fargo, Bank of America, HSBC, Haspa, Fortis, Deutsche bank and Societe Generale.

As any web developer will tell you, we all have a passion for building sites, otherwise we wouldn't do it, and I'm not different. Outside of my commercial role, I also build sites for external clients of mine, and have recently completed a site for a herbal products manufacturer and distributer called Multilinks Healthcare Products, and more recently a site for a car parts specialists company (site to be added soon).

I'm always looking at the creative side of developing and designing, trying out new tricks just for the sake of creating something unique, but for now, feel free to have a browse through my portfolio for a proper look of what I do!
